A Remap (or Chip) is the careful reprogramming of your Engine Control Unit (ECU) in order to increase the driveability, performance and economy of your vehicle.
Manufacturers create engines designed to run in various climates around the world, using various grades of fuel. This saves them the expense of providing a specific tune for each vehicle in each country. They also often have a single engine block designed to fit in various models, often with a slight increase in power for the higher spec version.
We are able to fine tune your engine to make the most of the UK climate and quality of fuel, by increasing the efficiency of the engine, resulting in more power and also more economy. Often a lower spec model can be remapped to the performance of the higher spec for much less than the cost of buying a new car.
With our Economy only remap (available on Diesel engines) we can tune specifically to increase economy by up to 7% whilst also improving performance and driveability. The Stage 1 Performance Map is aimed at achieving the most reliable power and performance but also includes an economy increase of up to 3%.
